Impurity & Fantasies

All she knew was heartache..
She wore her heart on her sleeve,
She was tired of the hurt in life..
She yearned happiness, she wanted to be free

She sat alone in a corner
Looking forlorn, broken and weak,
As life passed her by at east..
A lonely tear slid down her cheek

Outside the sky was blue, the grass so green..
But the memories inside her mind were deadly,
The darkness engulfing her became complete..
Yet she prayed and hoped, it would fade quickly

For somewhere, she knew, just beyond her reach..
An angel stood watching her struggle and mope,
How else could there have been, in her world so grey..
A small, unblinking, ray of shining hope?

She waited for the pain to steadily pass..
And fought while it tried to weigh her down,
For now when she opened her eyes so slow..
She realized it was much harder to frown

The time for a new journey had come at last..
The past, dark and dreary, was left behind,
She saw her life from another's eyes..
Where pain did not dwell - neither in her heart, nor her mind

She embraced the comfort of breathing so free..
And waved goodbye to her dreadful past,
This feeling of hope and renewed faith..
She truly hoped, she could make it last

Beyond the lakes and mountains and trees..
Her angel gave a glowing smile,
For he knew her story, far too well..
And he trusted that pain will stay at bay, awhile

So I made a few tweaks and changes to this poem. I think it works better now. Tell me what you think!

Hasta la-buh bye!
